Your Literacy Council Name
Application for Literacy Council Volunteers
Yes, Your Organization Can Modify This Page For Your Use
If you are interested in helping to serve your community (as a volunteer
with the Your Literacy Council Name), please provide us with the following
information:
If you would like to test this page, just fill in the fields as if you were applying for YOUR organization. Feel free to use false information for most of the fields, but be sure to use your e-mail address in both places it is requested, because when you click SEND at the bottom of this page, an e-mail will be sent to you so that you can see how the information would be received by your organization when you follow our directions to create your own form.
Your information is private. It will NOT be sent to us, and unless someone is unfortunate enough to have two very transmogrified e-mail addresses, nobody else will see your information either. (This web page will attempt to send your information to 'ChangeToYou@ChangeToYourDomain-nospam.com' then when it doesn't work, a bounce message will go to 'WebPageApplicationSubmittal@nodomain-nospam.com'. Like I said, I don't think anyone will see the information you type on this page.)
Please contact webmaster (at) LiteracyCurriculums.com if you would like us to create a page like this for your organization. Our prices are very reasonable, starting at $100 for a page that looks 95% like this one, with prices going up when you ask for substantial changes, additional fields, or additional information. You can also reach us by telephone at 1-479-BYTEMAN most afternoons and evenings. (No calls before 10 a.m. or after 11 p.m. Central USA Time Zone.)
How to Adapt this Web Page to Create Your Own Web-to-Email-Application
- Save a copy of this web page onto your hard drive
- Right-Click almost anywhere on this page, then click VIEW SOURCE
- That should bring up a copy of the HTML CODE for this web page
- Save that file to your hard drive with the file name of your choice
(for example, 'VolunteerApplication.htm' - The file name should end with '.htm' or '.html')
- PRINT a copy of these directions
- For your convenience, these directions appear as REMARKS in the HTML source code (which you can't see unless you are using a simple text editor like NOTEPAD or ???).
- Make these changes to the raw source code (you are modifying HTML)
- Change 'Your Literacy Council Name' to the name of your organization. (You need to make this change THREE TIMES)
- Change the heading and introduction as you wish
- Change 'ChangeToYou@ChangeToYourDomain-nospam.com' to YOUR e-mail address (THREE TIMES)
- (optional): Change 'WebPageApplicationSubmittal@nodomain-nospam.com' to the address that you want the web-page-submittal e-mail to appear to be coming from. (NOTE: If you want to be notified if a message bounces, be sure to put in a valid e-mail address here. If you don't want to be notified of bounces, you may use an invalid address here, just be sure you don't use an address that someone else would receive.)
- Change 'Literacy Council Volunteer - Web Page application' to whatever you want the SUBJECT of that e-mail to be
- Change 'http://www.literacycouncil.net/VolunteerApplication.htm' to the actual web address where your potential volunteers will find your application form
- Where you see 'Option Value' and Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma, make these changes:
- Change 'Arkansas' both places to the state where you expect most of your volunteers to come from
- Change Missouri (both places) and Oklahoma (both places) to other states you might get inquiries from
- If you need extra lines, just copy and paste the Oklahoma line to make additional state options
- Change "727" to whatever you want to appear in the ZipCode field. For example, if 95% of your volunteers are in "72768" and "72736" you could put "727" in the field. Everyone else can just type a different answer.
- Change "479-" to the telephone area code that most of your volunteers have.
- If you know HTML, you may edit the "volunteeras" and "committees" section to include choices that match your needs.
- DELETE this set of directions once you have made all the changes (Delete from 'delete from here' to 'down to here')
You should also go back and delete all remarks that tell you how to modify the page.
We recommend that you keep the remarks that remind you what a field does. For example, <!-- URL (web address) of form: --> which reminds you that the next field is the URL where your potential volunteers will find this page.
- Be sure to TEST your page by filling in your information and sending it. A Carbon Copy should go to the person who filled in the test page so if you want to test that the CC was delivered properly, be sure to test it with a different e-mail address than the organization address embedded in the HTML code.
- SAVE the final version of your page, then upload it to your web storage location. Be sure that you upload it to the same file name that you identified for the "hidden" INPUT TYPE with the NAME="form" because that is the web page that your visitor will be returned to if the click the appropriate link on the page they reach after they click SEND.
- If you want to create a page directly from the Freeback engine, go to Freedback.com where you can build practically any kind of page.
- If you want to get rid of the advertisements that show up after your potential volunteer clicks the SEND button, and get rid of the advertisements that show up in the e-mail that you receive, be sure to visit Freedback.com and investigate their PLUS service. Please note that we do not make anything when you convert to paid service, so please consider making a donation to us as a thank you for the time we spent making this page available for your use.
If you modify this page and use it for your purposes, please consider sending a donation to encourage us to develop more materials for your use. You may use "PayPal" to send donations to one of these e-mail addresses:
